Friday Fill-Ins

1. My blueprint for success includes making sure that I never forget who I am and what I want/need/deserve/desire from life. And to remember that I need to share with those that are less fortunate, and that includes the furry folks as well.
2. A peppermint disk was the last candy I ate/had.
3. The best facial moisturizer I’ve ever used is Grape Seed Moisturizer. It is made right here in Texas and is amazing!
4. Knitting and Exercise can be good therapy.
5. I’d like to tell you about Black Beauty Wine from Black Mesa Winery.
6. Passion is my strongest characteristic.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to hanging out with the Posse at Jumps, tomorrow my plans include errands to drop clothes at the dry cleaner, shoes to the repair shop, pick up jewelry that was repaired, grocery shopping, and watching the Texas Tech Red Raiders game, and Sunday I have to wash clothes, watch the Green Bay Packers games, iron, attend a birthday party for a four year old....., and knit.

Wednesday Interlude

Okay, officially, I am a very tired puppy and cannot really understand why I am still up....oh, wait....I was out enjoying myself with, well never mind, just listening to Patrice Pike music will suffice.....

I forgot to post the following to posts...saved them as drafts, so I lumped them together for a post tonight. Brought to you by Malbec....a wonderful wine......IMHO.

Friday Fill-In

1. My favorite food seasoning is fresh basil from my patio garden.
2. Trouble and Munchkin's voices (and Special Friend too) are music to my ears.
3. Lucky is having the opportunity to express myself in ways I never dreamed.
4. Child Abuse is something I take very seriously.
5. Many people have no idea who they really are because they haven't looked into the mirror and really looked at what was staring back at them.
6. Groceries and Prescriptions were the last thing I bought at the store.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to handing out candy to Trick-or-Treaters and watching Rocky Horror Picture Show for the millionth time, tomorrow my plans include finishing the first Pay-It-Forward gift (needs to be properly blocked) while watching College Football (Go Texas Tech!) and Sunday, I want to clean the apartment, cook a few meals for the upcoming week, and watch the Green Bay Packers.

Manic Monday

How many hours of TV do you watch per week? Do you feel that’s too much, not enough or just right?

Depends. On Saturday I watch college football, sometimes for the entire day while I am knitting or doing house work like ironing. Sunday, I watch at least one of the pro games. The rest of the week it just depends. Over all, Monday through Friday I would say that I watch about three hours of TV. Saturday and Sunday I would say about eleven hours. All in all, just about right for me....at least at this point in my life.

Which of the 5 senses do you feel is your strongest sense?

Hands down, it is my hearing. I can hear things that most people can't. Sometimes I can even hear the conversations of other tables when I am out at a restaurant....

What’s the wackiest belief you held as a child?

Oh wow - good question. I think it would have to be the fact that my mother said she had eyes in the back of her head. I quickly learned that she was kidding, but my kids thought the same thing for YEARS! Now they both have eyes tattooed on their neck so that they can say that they have eyes in the back of their heads.....OY....

Okay, gang...off to bed or I will never want to get up. I owe lanoue81 a text message tomorrow since I stood her up at the Houston Hurly Knitter's Java Stitch gathering. I had a "Come To Jesus" meeting that I needed to attend and she will understand when I tell her about it....that's what friends are for....

Tuesday Temptations

First, I voted! I "risked" a chance run in with S.W.C.B.N. because I have not changed my address with all the places necessary....working on it....

Second, this temptation was first "seen" on Ravelry in this forum. I loved it and immediately added it to today's post for all of my bloggy peeps. I think that many of the items will be great for those swaps we seem so fond of....

I went to the library yesterday and found some cool books. I Checked out: Flying Solo Single Women In Midlife by Carol M Anderson and Susan Stewart, Baby Knits for Beginners by Debbie Bliss, Knitting For Baby by Melanie Falick and Kristin Nicholas, Nick Stellino’s Mediterranean Flavors, and Lee Bailey’s New Orleans Good Food and Glorious Houses by Lee Bailey with Ella Brennan. A little light reading and baby knitting pattern searching….

I originally went looking for the Debbie Bliss book with the kimono pattern that Franklin suggested. Turns out I have to request it from the Main Library. Request submitted….should be at my local branch Wednesday….

My latest temptations all come from The Art Institute of Chicago catalog that I received recently. As soon as I opened the catalog I saw this, and fell instantly in love/lust. A soon as I turned the page, I was distracted by this, this, and this. A few more pages later and I was captured by this and the companion glasses. A few more pages and I saw this, this, this, this, and this. A few pages later....see a trend yet....I saw this, this, this, this, this, this, this, and this. As I skimmed through the Christmas card selection and past the snail mail order form, I found this and these in blue and red. I just love the painting they are inspired by. I so would love this as well. I think that I may totally change my signature color to red. Almost done with the catalog I found this, this, this, and these. I also need to add this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, and this.

Looks like I may need a sugar mama or a lucky lottery ticket if I keep up lusting after some of this artsy stuff....

The Bike Of My Dreams....

Okay gang...I am sitting here drinking coffee and I realized that in my stupor after talking with my mom that I completely forgot to post that I found the PERFECT bike for me. Yes, I am serious. I start back to college this spring to finish my degree. I learned from a very wise business owner, and personal friend, that you need to have your goals in a place you can see them daily to keep you focused and on track. I am still listing them out but a motorcycle has always been at the top of the list, and after the special friend took me to the rally I was even more motivated.

So, this is the one I will print and place on the goals board. I am not certain of which color speaks to me the loudest. I'm not an all black kind of gal, so I will not even entertain thoughts of that one. For some reason, I do like the Red Hot Sunglo and the Deep Turquoise with Antique White, along with the Flame Blue Pearl with Pewter Pearl.

My dad suggested that I keep my eyes open for dealer demo units. He is a wise man. That is how younger brother got his newest one. And my mother reminded me that I would be needing a haircut that is more conducive to helmets (helmet hair - UGH!). She also reminded me that my goal is not to look cute, but to look attractive while being safe.

Okay, back to coffee, pancakes, one skein knitting....and football.

All Saint's Day

Otherwise known as my mother's birthday. Happy birthday mom!

What a day! Will spare you all the details. I did receive an excellent suggestion for what to make my new granddaughter. I have decided to make this. Mr. Habit himself suggested it as an excellent item. Will go to the bookstore to see if I need to own the book...otherwise, I need to see if my local library has it so I can get going....

Talking to my mom always reminds me of how much I respect her now. She shocked me with one of her comments. She is finally going to break down and get a tattoo. She wants one that says "Made in Tennessee". All true, as she was born there just as my dad, myself, and all my siblings. She also told me that my baby brother just got himself a new bike. I think that she said it was black with suede blue trim. My parents have one like this. She is all black and mom said dad calls her Black Beauty. She also shocked me right out of my shoes when she told me that my uncle just got himself this. I have no other details. The main shocker is that he is 6'2" and should have gotten a bigger bike....but he will learn, so says my dad....

Okay, off to bed soon, as Texas Tech upset the Texas Longhorns....and I am exhausted....I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and survived Halloween.....
